A parallel universe where the Federation was once "mirrored" by a brutal Empire. In 2267, our universe's Captain Kirk and three other officers visited there via a transporter accident. Kirk influenced the mirror Spock, who became the Empire's commander-in-chief and was able to reform it, which led to its conquest by the Alliance. Humans became slaves. Bajor, once a subject world of the Empire, is now an ally of the powers that be. Transporters were altered to prevent further crossovers by that route. In 2370, however, our universe's Kira and Bashir entered the mirror universe because of a plasma leak in their runabout as they went through the wormhole. They found a station still known as Terok Nor, still orbiting Bajor, and commanded by Kira's counterpart. The wormhole was unknown in the mirror universe until Kira and Bashir escaped through it.
