Gamma Quadrant (People and things)
alpha-currant nectar -- See under Food and Beverages.
Alphas
A new type of Jem'Hadar bred in the Alpha Quadrant after the disappearance of the Dominion fleet in the Bajoran wormhole in 2374. Their DNA and psychological profile are specifically designed for combat in the Alpha Quadrant; also, they have more initiative, and they dispense with the ritual of pledging loyalty while receiving "white". They are believed by the Founders to be better leaders than the Gammas. (Note: For convenience, I'm listing Alpha Jem'Hadar in this file.)
Amat'igan (Andrew Hawkes)- "One Little Ship"
A Jem'Hadar who came aboard the Defiant with the Female Changeling, and piloted the ship to the Founders' new homeworld, using a device to keep the computer from making a navigational record.
Anetra- "Broken Link"
Rurigan's "daughter" and Taya's mother, a potter. She was the latest disappearance, six hours before Odo and Dax's arrival. Anetra was restored with the others when the holographic generator was repaired.
Arak'taral (Stephen Davies)- "Shadowplay"
A Jem'Hadar, one of a group whom Goran'Agar brought to Bopak III in hopes of finding a cure for their addiction to Ketracel-white. Arak'taral became displeased with Goran'Agar's handling of O'Brien and Bashir as prisoners, believing that his First had turned weak. He changed his mind when he thought Goran'Agar had recaptured the prisoners, but ended up being killed by Goran'Agar.
Argrathi -- See under Sentient Races.- "Hippocratic Oath"
Attendant (Loren Lester)
At Trevean's "hospital".
- "The Quickening"
baby Changeling
Presumably one of the 100 infant Changelings, including Odo, who were sent out as explorers. It had been exposed to a massive amount of tetryon radiation and was severely ill when Quark purchased it from a Yridian. Quark sold it to Odo, who, after the baby Changeling had been purged of the isotopes, endeavored to teach it to shapeshift and communicate, aided by Dr. Mora. Though they met with some success, the baby Changeling's molecular matrix destabilized, and it finally died. As it did so, it integrated itself into Odo's body, enabling him to shapeshift again.
Bashir Changeling (Alexander Siddig)- "The Begotten"
A Changeling who replaced Bashir on DS9 after the doctor was taken prisoner, unknown to the rest of the crew. He was on the station for over a month, encompassing the episodes from "Rapture" (or even before) to "By Inferno's Light". This Changeling sabotaged the station's graviton emitters so that they strengthened the wormhole's spatial matrix rather than collapsing it. He also hijacked the Yukon and piloted it to Bajor's sun, loaded with a protomatter device, in a suicide run intended to trigger a supernova, but was stopped by the Defiant. The Changeling perished when the runabout exploded.
Borath (Dennis Christopher)- "In Purgatory's Shadow"/"By Inferno's Light"
A Vorta who, in the simulated reality experienced by Sisko, Dax, Bashir, O'Brien, and T'Rul, was on the station for Federation/Dominion negotiations; he claimed to be a Founder. Actually, he was conducting the experiment for the Founders.
Brota (Brian Evaret Chandler)- "The Search, Part II"
A descendant of Worf, on Gaia; leader of a group which followed Klingon ways to honor their ancestor. He asked Worf to kill him rather than let him be simply wiped from existence.
Chandra (Clara Bryant)- "Children of Time"
A little Wadi girl, encountered by Sisko, Dax, Kira, and Bashir in shap two of Chula. Referred to as "the Chandra" by Falow. They found that they could only get past a forcefield by imitating her as she played something resembling hopscotch while singing a rhyme.
Changelings -- See under Sentient Races.- "Move Along Home"
chee'lash fruit -- See under Food and Beverages.
Child (Mark Humphrey)
On Meridian; invited Sisko to play vajhak with him. (The child's name was Lito, according to the script.)
- "Meridian"
Colyus (Kenneth Mars)
"Protector" of a village in the Gamma Quadrant in which people were disappearing one by one. When Odo and Dax arrived, at first he suspected them of being behind it, but was convinced otherwise. He was surprised to find out that he and everyone else in the village were holograms.
Coutu (Philip LeStrange)- "Shadowplay"
A Paradan rebel leader who met with Sisko, Kira, and Bashir, after rescuing the real O'Brien.
Cowl (Nicholas Shaffer)- "Whispers"
One of Haneek's two mates.
Croden (Cliff De Young)- "Sanctuary"
A Rakhari, found by a Klingon ship in a damaged shuttlecraft in the Gamma Quadrant and brought to DS9. There, in a robbery attempt set up by Quark, Croden killed Ro-Kel and was subsequently arrested by Odo. Croden offered to show Odo an asteroid in the Chamra vortex where he claimed a colony of Changelings lived; as proof, he displayed a locket with a shapeshifting stone. Sent to return Croden to Rakhar, Odo learned that Croden had become a fugitive when he killed the security agents who murdered his family after he began questioning the government. They were pursued by Ah-Kel, and ended up on the asteroid, where Croden had hidden his daughter Yareth. Odo finally released the two Rakhari to start a new life on Vulcan; Croden gave Odo the locket.
Yedrin Dax (Gary Frank)- "Vortex"
A descendant of Jadzia Dax, on Gaia. The symbiont had been passed to him through three generations; he was apparently the colony's leader. Yedrin's plan to create a quantum duplicate Defiant which would crash on the planet while the original could go home proved to be a deception, concocted to ensure the colony's survival. He was wiped out of existence when the Defiant did not go back in time as planned. Sisko and Jadzia Dax mistakenly speculated that Yedrin had had a change of heart and tampered with the ship's controls.
Depnen- "Children of Time"
The baker in the holographic village. Taya confided to Odo that Depnen really liked her mother, so he always saved them the best loaf of grainbread.
Deral (Brett Cullen)- "Shadowplay"
A scientist on Meridian, a widower who fell in love with Jadzia Dax, and she with him. He was studying his planet's dimensional shifting. When Dax perceived his reluctance to leave, she decided instead to stay with him, but was unable to accompany the planet into its noncorporeal state.
Deyos (Ray Buktenica)- "Meridian"
A Vorta, who runs Internment Camp 371. He set free the Cardassian prisoners, except Garak, when he announced that Cardassia had joined the Dominion. He later watched Ikat'ika fight Worf, and urged Ikat'ika to kill the Klingon. When Ikat'ika refused, Deyos ordered both of them shot; Worf was beamed out just as a soldier fired.
- "By Inferno's Light"
The Dominion
The one major power encountered in the Gamma Quadrant; it has existed for 2000 years. (In "The Dogs of War", however, Weyoun said it had been founded 10,000 years ago.) Its purpose was to "impose order"; its creators and rulers were the Founders (a.k.a. Changelings), once a persecuted race. Its chief soldiers and enforcers were the Jem'Hadar, while the Founders' chief representatives and administrators were the Vorta. The Karemma were minor members.
Dosi -- See under Sentient Races. When first encountered, the Dominion had technology that was either far ahead of or radically different from that of the Federation: their weapons could easily cut through Federation shields, they had transporters with a range that could utilize the wormhole (later said to be up to three light years), and their antiproton beams were able to detect cloaked ships.
The Dominion were first mentioned in "Rules of Acquisition". A few more hints were dropped during the second season, until finally the Jem'Hadar appeared in that season's finale. Over the next few years, the Dominion became known in the Alpha Quadrant for its political intrigue and matchless covert capabilities, which Starfleet and other powers never were quite able to develop effective countermeasures against. In 2373, they entered into an alliance with Cardassia and aided it in defeating the Klingons and the Maquis. Late that same year, the first shots of the Dominion war were finally fired near DS9, which was occupied for a time by Dominion and Cardassian forces.
Despite its ruthlessness and seemingly limitless resources, the Dominion were finally defeated largely thanks to Damar's rebellion. Odo rejoined the Great Link to heal the Founders and to hopefully teach his people tolerance; other than that, it was unknown at the end of the series what the fate of the Dominion would be.
Drohlak
The Prime Ossemite of the 19th dynasty of the Verathan civilization; Vash auctioned off a statue of him.
Sixth Duran'Adar- "Q-Less"
A Jem'Hadar in Kudak'Etan's troop. Kudak'Etan threatened to have him select a Defiant officer for execution.
Ee'char (Craig Wasson)- "One Little Ship"
An Argrathi prisoner, O'Brien's cellmate, who was included in the false memories of imprisonment implanted in O'Brien's mind. Ee'char, who said he had been in for 6 cycles before O'Brien was put in with him, befriended O'Brien and showed him how to cope with prison life. When O'Brien returned to DS9 in reality, he claimed he had been alone in his cell; but he kept seeing visions of Ee'char. Finally, he confessed to Bashir that he had killed Ee'char, strangling him when he thought Ee'char was hiding food from him; then he found that Ee'char had actually been dividing the food equally, intending to share. Once O'Brien had finally spoken of Ee'char, the visions stopped.
- "Hard Time"
Ekoria (Ellen Wheeler)
A native of the Teplan system, infected with the Blight, as was everyone there. She was pregnant; her husband, an artist, had died the previous winter. Ekoria believed in the hope Bashir offered, and assisted him. When she Quickened, Bashir stayed to care for her, and delivered her son: the first baby on that world to be born without the Blight. Ekoria lived just long enough to see him.
Ennis -- See under Sentient Races.- "The Quickening"
Epran (Dylan Haggerty)
A native of the Teplan system, like everyone else there a victim of the Blight. He was skeptical of Bashir's claim that he could cure the Blight and that he asked nothing in return. However, when Epran Quickened, he volunteered to undergo experimental treatment. Unfortunately, he died when the EM fields from Bashir's medical instruments caused the virus to mutate.
- "The Quickening"
Eris (Molly Hagan)
A female Vorta who was captured with Sisko and Quark by the Jem'Hadar. She claimed that her homeworld, which she said was Kurill Prime, was conquered by the Dominion when they refused to join freely. When Quark managed to free her from the collar that suppressed her telekinetic powers, she escaped with him and Sisko and came to the station, only to be revealed as a spy; the whole scenario was staged by the Dominion. On being unmasked, Eris beamed away.
- "The Jem'Hadar"
Falow (Joel Brooks)
Master Surchid of the Wadi, leader of the first diplomatic delegation to DS9 from the Gamma Quadrant. He dispensed with formalities and went straight to Quark's, where, after hours of gaming, he caught Quark cheating him at Dabo. Falow then forced Quark to play Chula, with the involuntary participation of Sisko, Kira, Dax, and Bashir.
Female Changeling -- See under Recurring Characters.- "Move Along Home"
Female Villager (Trula M. Marcus)
One of the holographic villagers.
Founders -- See under Sentient Races.- "Shadowplay"
Gabriel (Jesse Littlejohn)
A young boy on Gaia.
Gai (Leland Orser)- "Children of Time"
One of Haneek's two mates.
Gammas- "Sanctuary"
The "original" Jem'Hadar, bred in the Gamma Quadrant.
Gelnon (Leland Crooke)- "One Little Ship"
The Vorta to whom First Kudak'Etan reported.
ghergher beast -- See under Flora and Fauna.- "One Little Ship"
Goran'Agar (Scott MacDonald)
A Jem'Hadar who in 2369 was the only survivor of a crash on Bopak III. Although his supply of Ketracel-white ran out, he did not die. In 2372, he brought a group of fellow Jem'Hadar soldiers back to the planet, in hopes that something about it would free them too of the addiction, yet it did not work with them. When Bashir and O'Brien crashlanded there, Goran'Agar forced Bashir to find a way to cure the others. He wanted to break away from the Dominion, and displayed such non-Jem'Hadar traits as mercy. Finally, he let Bashir and O'Brien go, knowing that his men would kill him when their supply of "white" ran out. (Goran'Agar may have been a "mutant" Jem'Hadar who had never needed white.)
greenbread -- See under Food and Beverages.- "Hippocratic Oath"
Hadren (Gordon Clapp)
The Exarch of Nehelik Province on Rakhar, who, when contacted by Sisko, demanded Croden's return.
- "Vortex"
Haneek (Deborah May)
A Skreean farmer whose ship was the first of the refugee fleet to come through the wormhole. Chosen as their leader, she became convinced that Bajor was their promised land, Kentanna. Haneek had befriended Kira, but when Kira agreed with the Bajoran provisional government that Bajor could not absorb the Skrreeans, she angrily turned on her.
Hanok (James Cromwell)- "Sanctuary"
Of the Karemma Commerce Ministry. He met with Sisko and Quark on the Defiant and complained about the Federation's fees and taxes, which he learned were actually a fiction concocted by Quark. When Hanok and Quark were stuck in the mess hall, alone with an unexploded Jem'Hadar torpedo, Hanok came to understand Quark's viewpoint on the excitement of gambling.
harridberries -- See under Flora and Fauna.- "Starship Down"
The "Hundred"
A name, most likely coined by Odo, for the one hundred Changeling infants who were sent out by the Founders to explore the galaxy, implanted with a homing instinct so that they would eventually return to the Great Link and add their experiences to it. Odo and Laas were two of the Hundred, as (presumably) was the baby Changeling in "The Begotten".
Hunter (Gerrit Graham)- "Chimera"
The leader of the hunting party that came to DS9 pursuing Tosk.
Hunters -- See under Sentient Races.- "Captive Pursuit"
Hur'q -- See under Sentient Races.
Idran hybrids -- See under Flora and Fauna.
First Ikat'ika (James Horan)
Leader of the Jem'Hadar soldiers holding captives from the Alpha Quadrant in Internment Camp 371. He had his men train for combat with Klingons by fighting Worf, and finally fought Worf himself. However, when Worf could take no more, Ikat'ika refused to kill him. He yielded, saying he could only kill Worf, not defeat him. Ikat'ika was vaporized by one of his own soldiers on Deyos' order.
Inglatu (Brian Thompson)- "In Purgatory's Shadow"/"By Inferno's Light"
A Dosi with whom Quark negotiated on behalf of the Grand Nagus to buy the Dosi's tulaberry wine. He was resistant when Quark stepped up the bargain, and stormed off back to his homeworld, where Quark followed him.
Second Ixtana'Rax (Fritz Sperberg)- "Rules of Acquisition"
A Gamma Jem'Hadar, an Elder, who had been displaced as First of his troop by Kudak'Etan, an Alpha. He was resentful of Kudak'Etan, and argued with him over the treatment of the captured Defiant officers. Ixtana'Rax was one of the Jem'Hadar killed in the Defiant's engine room.
Jem'Hadar -- See under Sentient Races.- "One Little Ship"
Jem'Hadar (Paul S. Eckstein)
A soldier who detained Garak as he tried to leave a munitions facility where he had just planted a bomb.
Jem'Hadar (Kevin Scott Allen)- "The Dogs of War"
Stopped Damar and Garak on the street, recognizing Damar. He was shot and killed, with his companion, by Kira, posing as a Breen.
Jem'Hadar #1 (Michael W. Bailous)- "What You Leave Behind"
- "Hippocratic Oath"
Jem'Hadar Boy (Bumper Robinson; played in a prepubescent stage by Hassan Nicholas)
A boy found as an infant in some wreckage from the Gamma Quadrant; he grew to young adulthood in three days, and went on a rampage through the Promenade, stopping when he recognized Odo as a Founder. Odo took him in and tried to teach him alternatives to violence, but the boy's engineered aggressive nature was too powerful to overcome. Rather than be taken away by Starfleet, the boy pulled a phaser on Sisko and declared that he was leaving with Odo to find his people; Odo agreed in order to prevent bloodshed, and took him back to the Jem'Hadar.
Jem'Hadar First (Christopher Halsted)- "The Abandoned"
Presided at the intended execution of Kira, Garak, and Damar. However, he was instead killed himself by the Cardassian guards who had accompanied him.
Jem'Hadar Guard (Diaunte)- "What You Leave Behind"
- "The Search, Part II"
Jem'Hadar Guard (Jim Palladino)- "In Purgatory's Shadow"
Jem'Hadar Guard (Don Fischer)Searched the prison cell where Bashir and the others were kept. He had nearly found Garak inside the wall when the prisoners started a fight; the guard was stabbed by Bashir.
Jem'Hadar Officer (Christopher Doyle)- "By Inferno's Light"
Bumped into O'Brien at Quark's and started a brawl, in the Founders' simulated reality.
Jem'Hadar Officer (Barry Wiggins)- "The Search, Part II"
He came to the prison cell where Bashir and the rest were kept, to take Garak to be put to death, and had the room searched. However, he was vaporized by his own weapon, taken from him by a Breen prisoner.
Jem'Hadar Soldier (Tom Morga)- "By Inferno's Light"
- "The Search, Part II"
Jem'Hadar Soldier -- See under People and Things on DS9.Karemma -- See under Sentient Races.
kava nuts -- See under Food and Beverages.
Keevan (Christopher Shea)
A Vorta who was supervisor of a Jem'Hadar troop which crashed on a planet inside a dark matter nebula in Cardassian space. He was critically injured in the impact, and was close to death when his men captured Garak and Nog. Keevan arranged to trade them for Sisko and Bashir, who successfully treated the Vorta. Since there was only one vial of Ketracel-white left, and after it was gone the Jem'Hadar would kill everyone on the planet, Keevan deliberately set his troop up to be slaughtered by Sisko and crew, in exchange for being taken alive as a prisoner of war.
- "Rocks and Shoals"
Starfleet agreed to let Quark exchange Keevan to the Dominion for Ishka. However, before the trade could take place, Keevan was accidentally killed by Gaila. Nog was able to reanimate him long enough to complete the exchange. With his controls jammed, Keevan's corpse was rather ignominiously left on Empok Nor, repeatedly walking into a bulkhead.
Keshara- "The Magnificent Ferengi"
A woman on Meridian, whom Seltin had hoped Deral might settle down with.
- "Meridian"
Kilana (Kaitlin Hopkins)
A Vorta, supervisor of the Jem'Hadar who came to rescue a Changeling trapped aboard the crashed ship which was claimed by Sisko and his away team. Kilana kept the Changeling's existence secret from Sisko while attempting both negotiation and force. She claimed that it was her first mission outside the Dominion, and her first encounter with people from the Federation, but later admitted she had lied. After the death of the Changeling, and her Jem'Hadar followers (who committed suicide), Kilana noted that if she and Sisko had trusted each other, all the deaths would have been prevented. She left with a sample of the Changeling's ashes.
Ambassador Krajensky (Lawrence Pressman)- "The Ship"
A Federation ambassador who told Sisko of a coup on the Tzenkethi homeworld, and went along on a mission of the Defiant to patrol the border. However, Krajensky turned out to be a Changeling spy who sabotaged the ship, locking it on course for a Tzenkethi settlement, cloaked and with phasers ready, in order to start a war. The Changeling led the crew a merry chase until he was finally killed by Odo. It was afterwards believed that the real Krajensky had been kidnapped or killed while en route to Risa.
First Kudak'Etan (Scott Thompson Baker)- "The Adversary"
An Alpha Jem'Hadar who had replaced Ixtana'Rax as head of the Jem'Hadar troop that captured the Defiant. He was eventually killed in the Defiant's engine room during the shootout between his men, the Defiant officers, and the shrunken Rubicon.
- "One Little Ship"
Laas (Garman Hertzler) (Note: Garman Hertzler is another stage name of J.G. Hertzler, who also played Martok)
A Changeling, who, like Odo, was one of the hundred infants sent out to explore the galaxy. Laas had been discovered by the Varalans and lived among them; his name means "changeable" in their language. He was never able to completely mimic their appearance, though he became adept at such ambitious forms as fire and fog. Laas first took humanoid form two hundred years ago. At one time, he had a humanoid mate, but the relationship ended because they could not produce children together. The first other "metamorph" Laas met was Odo, who told him about their people and demonstrated the Link. Laas, who was very distrustful of humanoids, was eager to search for the rest of the "Hundred", and urged Odo to join him. Matters were complicated when Laas killed a Klingon on the Promenade and was arrested. However, Kira let Laas go, and directed him and Odo to a rendezvous point. Odo showed up there, but only to tell Laas goodbye. Laas left, still unable to fathom Odo's choice to stay with humanoids.
Third Lamat'Ukan (Christian Zimmerman)- "Chimera"
A member of Kudak'Etan's troop; an Alpha.
Latia (Lisa Moncure)- "One Little Ship"
A woman who had Quickened and was one of Bashir's volunteer patients; but when the EM fields mutated the virus, Trevean came and "assisted" her.
Limara'son (Paul S. Eckstein)- "The Quickening"
A Jem'Hadar, a member of the troop led by Remata'Klan and supervised by Keevan. Suffering from Ketracel-white deprivation, he fired on Sisko's group against orders, for which he was disciplined by Remata'Klan, who reduced him from Fourth to Sixth.
- "Rocks and Shoals"
Lisa (Davida Williams)
A young girl on Gaia, a descendant of Jadzia Dax.
- "Children of Time"
Lovok (Leland Orser)
A Romulan colonel in the Tal Shiar, who aided Enabran Tain in his plan to destroy the Founders; and commander of the warbird that led the attack. He convinced Tain to let him take Odo to Romulus for study, rather than killing him. Later, as Odo and Garak were escaping during the battle with the Jem'Hadar, Lovok appeared and gave them the means to access the runabout, explaining that he was actually a Changeling. He offered to take Odo back into the Great Link; Odo refused, after which "Lovok" beamed away.
Luaran (Kitty Swink)- "The Die is Cast"
A Vorta, in command of a Jem'Hadar ship that was having a Breen energy dissipator installed when Garak, Damar and Rusot brought Kira to her as a "prisoner". Luaran was killed by Garak.
Male Changeling (William Frankfather)- "Tacking Into the Wind"
One of the Changelings on Odo's homeworld, who questioned the female leader's letting Odo experience the Link.
Male Villager (Martin Cassidy)- "The Search, Part II"
A man living in a village in the Gamma Quadrant, who was understandably skeptical when he learned that he and the other villagers were holograms. Colyus addressed him as Merruk.
Martok Changeling (J.G. Hertzler)- "Shadowplay"
A Changeling who had replaced Martok for two years. He instigated the Klingon suspicions of Cardassia that led to an invasion. This was not known, however, until four DS9 officers were caught at an initiation ceremony for the Order of the Bat'leth. The Changeling freed them, telling them it was so they could kill Gowron. However, Odo finally realized who this Martok was, and exposed him. The Changeling was killed by about 50 Klingon disruptors.
Meso'clan (Jerry Roberts)- "The Way of the Warrior", "Apocalypse Rising"
A Jem'Hadar, one of Goran'Agar's followers. He guarded Bashir and O'Brien, and was injured by a weapon O'Brien had secretly built. Rather than have him killed, as per usual Jem'Hadar procedure, Goran'Agar ordered him cared for.
Milani- "Hippocratic Oath"
A woman whose infant Trevean showed to Bashir and Dax; the baby had the characteristic lesions of the Blight.
Molly (Doren Fein)- "The Quickening"
A young girl on Gaia, a seventh-generation descendant of Miles O'Brien.
Nima- "Children of Time"
An Ennis soldier (was named in the script but had no lines and was uncredited).
Nol-Ennis -- See under Sentient Races.- "Battle Lines"
Norva (Heide Margolis)
A victim of the Blight, who had Quickened prior to Dax and Bashir's arrival, and was in the final stages when she asked them to take her to the hospital. They did, but Bashir was shocked to learn that Trevean had "eased her suffering".
- "The Quickening"
Miles O'Brien (Changeling) (Colm Meaney)
One of the four (according to him) Founder operatives on Earth at the time; he had a chat with Sisko while in the guise of O'Brien.
Miles O'Brien (Replicant) (Colm Meaney)- "Paradise Lost"
A duplicate of O'Brien, with all O'Brien's memories, created by the Paradan government, who had kidnapped the real O'Brien. His purpose was probably to disrupt the Paradan peace talks, possibly with a mass assassination. Alerted by the rebels, the DS9 officers shut him out of security preparations. Ironically, the replicant actually believed he was O'Brien, and even suspected a conspiracy on the part of his fellow officers and his wife. Finally he escaped from the station and followed Sisko, Bashir, and Kira to their meeting with Paradan rebels, who had rescued the real O'Brien. The replicant was shot and killed by a rebel after coming face to face with his original.
Miranda O'Brien (Jennifer S. Parsons)- "Whispers"
A leader of the colony on Gaia; a descendant of Miles O'Brien and Rita Tannenbaum.
Odo -- See under Regular Characters.- "Children of Time"
Odo (Older) (Rene Auberjonois)
The Odo who survived the crash of the Defiant on Gaia. Though he had been unable to shapeshift within the energy barrier, eventually he learned to do so, and over 200 years was able to create a more "realistic" humanoid face. When the Defiant discovered the colony in 2373, the older Odo revealed to Kira that he loved her, something he had waited two centuries to do. Since Kira would die without treatment available only on DS9, he tampered with the Defiant's controls to prevent the crash, wiping out the existence of himself along with the settlers. He imparted this knowledge, along with the news that their "secret" was out, to the younger Odo via a link.
First Omet'iklan (Clarence Williams III)- "Children of Time"
Leader of a group of Jem'Hadar supervised by Weyoun (the fourth), which allied itself with the crew of the Defiant in order to prevent another, renegade group of Jem'Hadar from completing work on restoring an Iconian gateway. He killed his Second, Toman'torax, for disobeying orders and brawling with Worf. Omet'iklan promised to kill Sisko after the mission was over, but when Sisko saved his life, he changed his mind, although he said the next time they met they would be enemies. He killed Weyoun for questioning his men's loyalty. Omet'iklan and his men stayed on Vandros IV to eliminate the remainder of the renegades.
Ornithar (John Fleck)- "To the Death"
A Karemma representative. Threatened by Quark with the end of the deal with the Ferengi, he directed Sisko to the relay station on Callinon VII.
Paradans -- See under Sentient Races.- "The Search, Part I"
Parell (Marybeth Massett)
One of the Gaian settlers who espoused the Klingon lifestyle.
Patient (Alan Echeverria)- "Children of Time"
A man named Tamar, who had Quickened and was at Trevean's "hospital", attended by friends and family, when Bashir and Dax arrived. They were horrified when he died a few minutes after Trevean gave him an herbal drink. Trevean prevented Bashir from attempting to revive him.
q'lavas -- See under Food and Beverages.- "The Quickening"
Seltin Rakal (Christine Healy)
The apparent leader of the inhabitants of Meridian. She greeted the DS9 officers warmly. Seltin hoped Deral would choose Keshara or Renar as his wife, but welcomed Dax.
Rakhari -- See under Sentient Races.- "Meridian"
reeta hawk -- See under Flora and Fauna.
Third Remata'Klan (Phil Morris)
A Jem'Hadar, who became leader of his troop when the First and Second were killed in a crash landing on a planet inside a nebula in Cardassian space. He had previously questioned the orders of the Vorta supervisor, Keevan; however, his loyalty to the Dominion was such that he refused Sisko's offer to put the Jem'Hadar in stasis rather than kill them, even knowing that Keevan had set them up to be slaughtered. Remata'Klan was subsequently killed along with his men.
Renar- "Rocks and Shoals"
A woman on Meridian, whom Seltin had hoped Deral might settle down with.
K'Par Rinn (Margot Rose)- "Meridian"
An Argrathi security officer who supervised O'Brien's punishment for "espionage", which was the implantation of false memories of twenty years in prison. (K'Par may be her first name or her rank; it was stated in the script but not spoken on screen.)
rippleberries -- See under Food and Beverages.- "Hard Time"
Rurigan (Kenneth Tobey)
A native of Yadera Prime in the Gamma Quadrant. After his homeworld was taken over by the Dominion, Rurigan left, and used a hologenerator to recreate the way of life that he had known. To the holographic villagers, he was a respected elder, one of the village's founders. He lived there for over thirty years. When people started to disappear, Rurigan, who was dying, was ready to give it all up, but Odo persuaded him not to turn his back on the villagers. Promised that the others would not know that he wasn't like them, he agreed.
Saltah'nah -- See under Sentient Races.- "Shadowplay"
Golin Shel-la (Jonathan Banks)
Leader of the Ennis, who was eager to take Sisko's offer to have Bashir find a cure for the microbes that perpetually resurrect his people and the Nol-Ennis. However, he only wanted the cure as a means to kill off the Nol-Ennis once and for all.
Skrreeans -- See under Sentient Races.- "Battle Lines"
takana root tea -- See under Food and Beverages.
Third Talak'talan (Cress Williams)
The Jem'Hadar who led the force that captured Sisko and Quark. He came to DS9 to inform the officers there of this, and that further incursions into the Gamma Quadrant would no longer be tolerated by the Dominion.
Taya (Noley Thornton)- "The Jem'Hadar"
A little girl, Rurigan's "granddaughter", who was a hologram like almost everyone else in the village. She was the last person to see her mother before her disappearance. Taya was frightened at first by Odo's unusual appearance, but befriended him after getting to know him a little better. Before leaving, for her benefit, Odo shifted briefly into the form of her toy top.
Temo'zuma (Marshall Teague)- "Shadowplay"
A Jem'Hadar, one of Goran'Agar's followers.
Second Toman'torax (Brian Thompson)- "Hippocratic Oath"
Omet'iklan's second-in-command, who taunted Worf, and fought him in the mess hall of the Defiant, disobeying orders. He submitted to death by having his neck ritually broken, a punishment administered by Omet'iklan.
Torvin- "To the Death"
Someone on Gaia who had ridges.
Tosk (Scott MacDonald)- "Children of Time"
An alien from the Gamma Quadrant who was befriended by O'Brien. He turned out to be the prey in a hunting ritual. Tosk was captured by the Hunters, but O'Brien broke the Prime Directive to help him escape.
Tosk -- See under Sentient Races.- "Captive Pursuit"
