Andorian bull- "Apocalypse Rising"
Keiko told her husband that when he's disappointed he broods and stomps around like one.
Arbazan vulture- "Fascination"
Odo flew in this form on his homeworld.
Arfillian ficus- "The Search, Part II"
A type of shrub that Keiko was writing a paper on.

Furel compared the raid on Tempasa to kicking over a mound of these.

Leaves of a Bajoran plant, burnt during the Peldor festival.
berserker cat- "Rapture"
Dax told Bashir and Quark that one of the reasons she is attracted to Worf is that he has the courage of one.
boton- "Let He Who is Without Sin..."
A Bajoran crop. Kai Winn told Kira that with the reclamators Rakantha province could once more produce it for export.
Cardassian voles- "Shakaar"
Animals, about 9" long, hairless, and six-legged, which infested formerly uninhabited sections of DS9 and began to be seen in other places when people began to move into their nesting areas. They are apparently attracted to energy fields.

They can be trained to fight, though this is illegal.

Apparently there is a market for their bellies.
- "Body Parts"
Supposedly the last one on DS9 had been trapped months ago, but Quark's bar was infested with them, leading to the place being shut down while they were destroyed.

Mullibok told Kira that she walked like one.
Degebian mountain goat- "Progress"
After being pulled to safety when he slipped and nearly fell over a cliff, Kor angrily said that the ledge Worf had directed him to was fit for a Degebian mountain goat, not a Klingon warrior.
Drathan puppy lig- "The Sword of Kahless"
A pet animal. The mirror Garak told our universe's Kira that her counterpart thought of her as one.
Edosian orchids- "Crossover"
Beautiful but very toxic flowers. Garak told Odo they had been his specialty when he was (he claimed) a gardener at the Cardassian Embassy on Romulus.
Feloran bromiliads- "Broken Link"
A type of plant Bareil said it was once his ambition to grow at his monastery.
Filian python- "In the Hands of the Prophets"
A burrowing snake, which Odo mentioned while talking to the baby Changeling about the shapes it would be able to take.
flitterbirds- "The Begotten"
A type of bird native to Rhymus Major. They were included in Quark's first holosuite program.
Garanian bolites- "Profit and Loss"
Tiny insectoid animals (like fleas on amphetamines) that cause itching and discoloration when they contact humanoid skin. Hopefully this contact has no other effect. Nog played a prank with them on two Bajorans.
garlanic tree- "A Man Alone"
The tree from whose wood Melora's cane was made.
gettle- "Melora"
A wild Cardassian herd animal.
ghergher beast- "Chain of Command, Part II" [TNG]
A large animal, probably native to Yadera Prime (may be legendary). The evil Changeling in the fairy tale Taya told Odo could have turned into one.
grint-hound- "Shadowplay"
A fierce creature which Worf pretended to be while playing with Yoshi; he regretted it when the child hurt himself.
grishnar cat- "Time's Orphan"
Gowron, believing DS9 to be mostly defenseless, compared Sisko to a toothless old grishnar cat.
- "The Way of the Warrior"
Gunji jackdaw
A bird resembling an emu. One appeared on the Promenade as a physical manifestation of someone's imagination.
hara cat- "If Wishes Were Horses"
A Bajoran animal. Kira once killed a mother hara cat in the Bestri woods, mistaking it for a Cardassian.
harridberries- "Second Skin"
A plant growing in bushes just inside the limits of the projection of the holographic village in the Gamma Quadrant. Taya picked a branch to offer to Odo; it disappeared, along with her hand, when she held them out to him.
hipecat root- "Shadowplay"
A root used in certain medicines, defractive optics, and some beauty supplies. Ishka applies cream of hipecat twice a day to keep her scalp smooth. She advised Yelgrun it would be a good idea to invest in hipecat futures.
Hupyrian beetles- "The Magnificent Ferengi"
Zek allocated extra funds for research into a new breed of them which could revolutionize the snuff industry.
Idran hybrids- "Ferengi Love Songs"
Plants which O'Brien was taking care of for Keiko while she was on Bajor. They died after Bashir overwatered them; too much water causes their roots to rot.
Joranian ostrich- "The Assignment"
A type of bird that, when frightened, has been known to hold its head underwater, sometimes until it drowns.
jumja tree- "Past Prologue"
A Bajoran tree whose edible sap, which is full of vitamin C, is hardened into jumja sticks.
- "In the Hands of the Prophets"
It presumably is also the source of jumja tea.
kandippers- "Crossover"
Mullibok said that fighting Cardassians must have been like spearing these in a bottle.
katterpod beans- "Progress"
A Bajoran crop, mentioned in several episodes. Kira said her father had recommended spraying them with chlorobicrobes.
kava root- "Progress"
The valuable root of a Bajoran plant. In a Bajoran story, three brothers find one as big as a house and decide to sell it in Jo'Kala.
Kavarian tiger bat- "Starship Down"
Jake was trying to find out what one smells like, for a story he was writing.
Klingon targ- "For the Cause"
An animal resembling a furry, horned pig, kept as a pet by Klingon children. On seeing Odo's quarters after Odo had trashed them, Quark wondered if Odo had been imitating one.
- "Crossfire"
A targ is ritually sacrificed before the feast at a traditional Klingon wedding; 3 targs are ritually sacrificed to make tallow for the candles in a traditional Klingon welcoming display.
- "A Time to Stand", "You Are Cordially Invited"
(Molly O'Brien has been seen playing with a stuffed toy targ.)
Ligorian mastodonDax compared the cloaked Defiant in the Badlands to this animal: you might not be able to see it, but it definitely makes leaves rustle.
lingta- "Blaze of Glory"
A meat animal on Qo'Nos. Worf told Quark that it is customary in Grilka's native region of Mek'rovak for a man to bring a fresh leg of lingta to the first courtship dinner.
- "Looking for Par'Mach in All the Wrong Places"
Jake served lingta roast to his father.
moba trees- "Rapture"
The source of the moba fruit. They grow wild on the land that Sisko purchased on Bajor.
Mordian butterfly- "Penumbra"
An insect replicated in Quark's first holosuite program, of Rhymus Major. When he and Natima picnicked in it, one landed on her nose, which was covered in honey, and got stuck.
moreka- "Profit and Loss"
A crop mentioned by Kai Winn as a possible export good when Rakantha could be made fertile again.
Norpin falcon- "Shakaar"
A bird famous for its swift reflexes.
palukoo- "Sons and Daughters"
A large, furry arachnid, the size of a small dog. The Bajoran moons are full of them. Kira said the resistance used to eat them. (Spelled palukoo in the script; paluckoo in the closed captioning.)
Pensho- "The Siege"
Neral's pet set'leth.
Plygorian mammoth- "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges"
When he was affected negatively by Martus' causal orbs during a charity racquetball match with O'Brien, Bashir exclaimed that he couldn't hit the broad side of one.
quadrotriticale- "Rivals"
A type of grain (see the TOS episode "The Trouble with Tribbles"). Quark's investment in quadrotriticale futures was wiped out.
Rafalian mouse- "Business As Usual"
An animal imitated by Odo in his quarters after Quark complained about the noise Odo made as a Takaran wildebeest. Quark said he was still bothered, by the sound of little feet scurrying around.
Rakonian swamp rat- "Crossfire"
Kira compared Quark to one.
ratana tree- "Hippocratic Oath"
Dax recalled that there was one in front of the Barros Inn.
razorcat- "Rejoined"
Odo bitterly remembered it as one of the things he used to be asked to turn into at parties.
reeta hawk- "The Forsaken"
A scavenger bird apparently native to Argratha. When O'Brien made his first attempt to draw an eseeka, Ee'char joked that he looked like a reeta hawk picking at a corpse.
Regalian fleaspiders- "Hard Time"
Odo arrested both Quark and Bashir for importing them without a permit. Bashir, who didn't know a permit was needed, had asked Quark to get them for him because he could synthesize a drug from their venom that would improve Kira's circulation during her pregnancy.
riding hound- "The Ship"
A Cardassian animal. Tain and Garak remembered when Garak, at age five, kept falling off one during an outing in the country.
rulot seeds- "In Purgatory's Shadow"
Kira claimed to a Cardassian navigational post that she was delivering a shipment of them to Gul Marayn.
saberbear- "The Homecoming"
Martok said he had been hunting this creature on Kang's Summit when he was captured by the Dominion in 2371.
salam grass- "In Purgatory's Shadow"
A crop mentioned by Kai Winn as a possible export when Rakantha Province could be made fertile again.
sand-spine- "Shakaar"
A vicious foot-long thorn of a desert plant found on a planet in the Dozaria system. Dukat sat on one when he and Kira camped for the night.
screech rhino- "Indiscretion"
On the way to rescue Kira, when Sisko asked if Dax could make his comm image look like a Kobheerian, Dax replied that she could make him look like a 3000-ton screech rhino if he wanted. Sisko said a Kobheerian would do.
Seltan carnosaur- "Second Skin"
An extremely tall creature. While recounting the tale of the shrunken runabout to Morn and an unidentified woman, O'Brien said that a Jem'Hadar they had confronted looked to be the size of one of these.
set'leth- "One Little Ship"
A Romulan animal, kept as a pet.
sinoraptor- "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges"
Kira recalled to Odo that Lupaza had said she (Kira) had the heart of one.
sleeger fungi- "The Darkness and the Light"
A type of fungi used for medicinal purposes.
Takaran wildebeest- "Paradise"
When Quark complained about Odo practicing his shapeshifting in his quarters (which are above Quark's), he said it sounded like a Takaran wildebeest was tromping around up there.
Tarkalean condor- "Crossfire"
Odo, momentarily forgetting he couldn't shapeshift, jumped off the stairs at Quark's, intending to change into one to catch a pair of Yridian Dabo-cheaters; instead, he took a tumble and had to go to the infirmary.
Tarkalean hawk- "Nor the Battle to the Strong"
Odo hoped to teach the baby Changeling how to become one.
t'gla- "The Begotten"
A Klingon animal, which Yeto compared Dax to, because she was prepared to let herself be "slaughtered" like one.
torga- "Invasive Procedures"
A rideable animal on Gaia.
Trellan crocodile- "Children of Time"
On seeing Odo's quarters after Odo had trashed them, Quark wondered if Odo had been imitating one.

tribbles
Small, furry, round animals with no discernible limbs or head; they make a loud, soothing purring sound when stroked, but screech and struggle when in close proximity to Klingons. If fed more than a small amount, they breed at an incredible rate; they are seemingly "born pregnant". The Defiant inadvertently traveled back to 2268, when Deep Space Station K7 and the original Enterprise became inundated with tribbles, and a Klingon spy named Darvin was exposed due to the tribbles' reaction to him. According to Worf, the Klingon Empire, which considered tribbles an ecological menace, obliterated the tribbles' homeworld and had eradicated these "mortal enemies" by the end of the 23rd century. However, after the Defiant returned to its own time period, DS9 too became infested.
trinucleic fungi- "Trials and Tribble-ations"
They can be broken down to make yridium bicantizine.
Vayan hornflies- "Statistical Probabilities"
Swarming insects, mentioned by O'Brien.
Vicarian razorback- "Battle Lines"
A creature Garak mentioned as something Odo could turn himself into to menace him, if it weren't for the quantum stasis field device that was preventing Odo from shapeshifting.
volg- "The Die is Cast"
A migratory herd animal on Varala. Laas once spent some time as one, traveling with a herd until they returned to their summer breeding ground, which had been fenced off. The herd died out in two generations.
Vorian pterodactyl- "Chimera"
While struggling up a mountain with the subspace transmitter from his and Quark's crashed runabout, Odo said wistfully that if he were still a Changeling, he could have shapeshifted into one of these and flown the transmitter to the peak.
Wanoni tracehound- "The Ascent"
Odo told Sisko that Lwaxana was after him (Odo) like one.
wompat- "The Forsaken"
A Cardassian animal, often kept as a children's pet.
xupta tree- "Chain of Command, Part II" [TNG]
A tree native to the planet in the Orellius system where Alixus' colony was. Cassandra offered to massage Sisko with an extract from it. He passed.
yar-bear- "Paradise"
A large, ferocious animal on Gaia.
Yridian yak- "Children of Time"
After trying to play darts with Morn, Bashir confided to O'Brien that Morn couldn't hit a Yridian yak at five paces.
